Wow. It's been awhile. Since I've officially started doing portrait photography in September, I have been busy with photo sessions...not to mention that my now 5 year old son likes to hog up all of my time! I was particulary inspired this week, so I thought I'd link up for old time's sake.
This vintage railroad crossing signal at the zoo was just begging to be photographed for this prompt. I played around with the processing, and now I really love the vintage feel...enough so that I may blow it up and frame it for the train room.
This is a picture of a photograph...isn't that a line from a song?..in which you can get a glimpse of a time gone by. My dear friend, Joella, who is now 82 years young, posed for this portrait when she was about fourteen. Her husband of over 60 years, Clifford, asked me if I could attempt to restore the photograph and enlarge it to a 5x7. I spent about 15 minutes in photoshop and it is good as new! Maybe I'll do a little before and after plus a tuturial soon.
I am currently doing a Beth Moore bible study, James: Mercy Triumphs. One level of commitment to the study includes handwriting the entire book of James. I cannot believe what a blessing doing so has been so far.
Oh, and for those of you who are wondering...I accidentally bought red Sharpie pens, and since they're all I use, I just decided to go with it since I'd already opened the package. ;P
The first week of this year, my Pooh Bear started piano lessons. He absolutely loves it, and he's surprised me by how quickly he's learning. It is true bliss to hear him twinkle away on his keyboard!
So, technically, this photo could just as easily have qualified as my "bliss." Meet my new Kelly Moore bag, Posey 2! She's the ultimate shopping partner and photographer's assistant. She carries all of the nonsense I usually throw in a purse, plus my camera, an extra lens, and my flash. We're besties. It was love at first site.
